1. Warm up and review:
* Chatting:
T gives some pictures and real objects to ask sts to answer.
T : What’s this?
S2 : It’s a (pencil case).
T : What are these?
S4 : They’re (notebooks).
T: How many (books)?
S6 : (Three).

2. New lesson:
A. Presentation:
Act. 1: Introduce the question-and-answer pattern:
- Hold up a ruler and ask: How many rulers? ( One
- Hold up 4 rulers and ask: How many rulers? ( One, two, three, four. Four rulers.
- Do the same with other classroom objects, singular or plural
- Divide the class into 2 teams, in turn, repeat the question and the answer

B. Open your book:
Act. 1: Listen and point:
a. Play the tape
- Get Ss point at the cats and repeat: How many cassettes?- Three cassettes.
b. Play the tape again
- Ask Ss to listen and point to the pictures
Act. 2: Ask and answer:(Picture and drill)- use the picture on p25
- Have Ss to work in pairs, point to the pictures. Then ask and answer:
S1: How many (cassettes)? S2: Three cassettes.
C. Extension:
Act. 1: Play game( lucky number)
- Write 8 numbers on the board( from 1 to 8)
- Tell sts each number is for a question but 3 of them are lucky numbers. If sts choose a lucky number, they don’t have to answer any questions but they get 2 points and they can get another number.
- Divider the class into 2 teams.
( five pens, six crayons, a pencil, four rulers, two notebooks)
